Access Keys
Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the website. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key.
All pages define the following access keys:
Access key 1 - Home page
Access key 2 - Content
Access key 3 - Search box
Access key 4 - Navigation
Access key 5 - Log a call
Access key 0 - Accessibility statement
Standards compliance
- All pages comply with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3 Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
- All pages validate as Valid HTML 4.01 Transitional with Valid CSS.
- All pages use structured semantic markup. For example H1 tags are used for section titles, H2 tags for page titles and H3 for sub-section headers. JAWS users can skip to sub-sections using ALT+INSERT+3.
Navigational Aids
- All pages on this site include a consistent set of navigation links.
- All pages on this site include a search box.
- "Jump to" links are includes on every page for the search box, content, navigation and "Log A Call" form.
Links
- Wherever possible, links are written to make sense out of context. Many browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) can extract the list of links on a page and allow the user to browse the list, separately from the page.
- There are no “javascript:” pseudo-links. All links can be followed in any browser, even if scripting is turned off.
- There are no links that open new windows without warning.
Images
- All content images used on this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include empty ALT attributes.
Visual design
- This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.
- This site has been designed so it can be viewed with different font sizes using both Internet Explorer's text resizing feature (”View” menu, “Text Size”) and Firefox's text resizing feature (CTRL + / CTRL -). The site is also compatible with IE7's zoom feature (CTRL + / CTRL -).
- If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, the content of each page is still readable.
- Alternatives to all javascript functions have been provided if your browser or browsing device does not support javascript.
